IF YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE

If you are an employee, you automatically contribute to the statutory social insurance system. Your employer is responsible for paying your contributions, which are deducted each month from your salary.  In principle, with regard to your contributions to old-age and survivors’ insurance (AVS), invalidity insurance (AI), income compensation insurance (APG), maternity insurance (APG-mat), unemployment insurance (AC), and family allowances (AF), no further action on your part is necessary.

The information below will allow you to familiarise yourself with the Swiss social security system, and provide you with information on how much you can expect to be deducted from your salary.  Your obligations are explained, as well as your rights and benefit entitlements. We hope this will help you to confidently plan your future.
